I have been in this industry since June of 1983, yes, I am old. When I was a Tech Support Specialist for a Word Processing company (MultiMate – a Wang Word Processor clone) we used to kid about callers to our Help Desk for certain issues they were having which, in about 40% of the cases they could have found the answer in their manual OR by hitting F1 for help. Then there is the one about how we would have to reload their software and when we told them to open the CD tray and insert the CD only to find they had been using it as a Coffee Cup holder.
